Indigo Gabbro aka Mystic Merlinite
I’ve been drawn to this stone before I ever even knew its true name.
I’d read about it in Robert Simmons book Stones of the New Consciousness.. But, as he has a way of doing, he had renamed and trademarked it as “Mystic Merlinite”… That's another story.
Anyway, through looking at the pictures, and reading about its energetic attunement, I felt incredibly drawn to it, so on my first trip to the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show last year … It was on my list.
But I didn’t find it there…
And, because I’m such a lover of all gems, minerals, and stones, and because Tucson is an absolute playground of crystalline energies… I quickly forgot my initial pull towards this mystical stone and relished in the sweet energies of selenite, amethyst, celestite, tourmaline, and so many other stones I deeply love and resonate with.
And so, I forgot all about Mystic Merlinite… That is, until about a year later, when just a couple of weeks ago, a friend spontaneously placed a piece in my hand and introduced me to Indigo Gabbro.
Yes, Mystic Merlinite and Indigo Gabbro are one and the same.
Holding the stone, I didn’t even need to consciously choose to tune in and focus on its energy … I immediately felt it…
It was like meeting an old soul friend.
She ended up gifting me that piece of Indigo Gabbro… And to be totally honest, I fell in love.
Since then, I've found a couple of good places online to order Indigo Gabbro including direct from a mine in Madagascar, and I’ve gone on to not only purchase more…
But I’ve been having such profound experiences with Indigo Gabbro, its quickly risen to the top of the list of my favorite stones.

So here, I’m really talking about the Madagascar mined mineral called either Indigo Gabbro or Mystic Merlinite which is a combination of Quartz, Feldspar, and other trace minerals.
As a quick side note, Gabbro refers to a type of stone that makes up the Oceanic crust, and is abundantly underneath all the Oceans… Indigo Gabbro, however, is a specific variation of this volcanic and Oceanic stone which developed in a sacred power spot of Madagascar, and it has unique Indigo coloring, associated with the Indigo and Violet Ray.
Because of this, one of the most remarkable qualities of Indigo Gabbro is its incredible ability to absorb, clear, and transmute harmful energies.
Most crystals do incredible work to absorb detrimental energies, but then you have to consciously make a point to energetically clear them or their efficacy is reduced or halted…
Indigo Gabbro, through the combination of the Indigo and Violet Ray energy, has the power to not only absorb detrimental energies … But it then also transmutes that energy.

And yet… Despite sharing all this, I still feel I’m not quite doing the stone justice so let me share with you a couple of experiences I’ve had with it.
Attuning to the Energies of Indigo Gabbro
After the initial experience of meeting this incredible stone that I already shared with you… I did a couple of meditations with the specific intention of “meeting the stone” and getting to know its energy and vibration as a living being.
For my initial meditation, I held the stone in my left hand, cleared my mind, opened my heart and tuned into its energy.
I felt a joyful wave of energy wash over me, and as I viewed the stone through my mind's eye I noticed a light mist radiating out from the stone and blanketing around me. I felt held and supported in its gentle joyful energy… Like my aura was being cleansed and harmonized, my cellular structure rebalanced, and my power and energy powerfully centered and returned to me in the moment.
That night I slept with the stone by my bedside, and upon waking up the next morning I felt even more energized and recharged than normal.
My second meditation with Indigo Gabbro was a bit different…
Again, I greeted and blessed the stone, tuning into its energy and this time placing it on my heart chakra. I felt a welcomed resonance there, a blessing of love and clarity as I entered into the inner realm.
And then from within… Indigo Gabbro showed herself to me.
This was my intention after all… The meet the spirit of the stone, and there she was.
A silvery indigo violet goddess glowing with beauty warmth and light… But then she stepped back, and suddenly I was surrounded and enveloped an ethereal starry sky.
Wrapped in peace and starlight… Held in the balance between light and dark…
I then saw my truth… At a deeper and more profound level than ever before… My truth as a higher density multidimensional being. I saw my potential for true Mastery, and how all the lessons, challenges, and struggles of my life were guiding me into alignment with my highest truth and brilliant complexity of my inner light…
It was profound to say the least, comforting, and completely magical.
So yes, in addition to its protective and centering energies, it's incredibly profound spiritually too…

I did, however, find a few great sources online which I personally ordered from and have been very pleased with the quality of the stones I received.

Further Reflection
Upon further reflection, I think part of why this stone is so powerful now is two-fold…

It helps you to balance and integrate polarity, heal, expand, and claim your Divine power and wholeness so you can then co-create with the infinite to bring the template of the highest possibilities held in Spirit… Into physical reality, and into your life.
