Energy Vampire Versus Positive Energetic Connections
When you feel emotionally, mentally, or even physically drained around certain people, chances are, those people are attaching energetic cords.
This isn’t always conscious. In fact, in most cases, people who are energy vampires aren’t even aware of it. It's not malicious, but it does negatively affect your vibration. It’s not something you want to allow.

Energy Connections: The Good and the Bad
When energy vampires are draining energy from you in a cord, they're getting energy from you rather than directly from Source, from the Divine, and it’s not serving them as well. However you look at it, cutting cords is beneficial.
There are positive energetic connections between people. This isn't what we’re talking about here. When I say cords, I always mean negative draining attachments. They look like these gnarly ropes or chains when I see them clairvoyantly.
You don't need to worry about inadvertently cutting positive connections with people because those energetic connections are beautiful golden high vibrational lights. If your connection is heart centered and is filled with love, joy, positivity, and if it’s serving, then it's not going to be cut with this process. This works to cut lower vibrational cords that do not serve, energy vampires that are not in alignment with your highest interest.
Options to Cut Cords
One of the most self-loving things you can do for yourself is to cut the cords that are draining you and call back your power. You can only create true positive change when you are standing in your love, light, and joy. Holding a positive vibrational state is also standing in your power and protecting yourself from being vulnerable from to all the negative energies that want to bring you down to their level.
When in doubt, call on your angels for infinite support and love.
Archangel Michael is the most wonderful ally for working with cord cutting and stopping energy vampires.
At any time, you can simply ask, “Archangel Michael, please cut any and all cords that drain me. I ask this according to divine will, for the highest and greatest good, and so it is.” He will step forward and cut the cords that drain you.
Shift your awareness to the present moment so that you may move through the day with grace, blessings, and gratitude. Smile and remember all that you are grateful for. For, gratitude also brings your point of attraction back to alignment. Gratitude unconsciously shifts the patterns and interactions with other people because you’re entering a higher vibrational state, changing your point of attraction.
With that being said, the best thing you can do is to send emotionally draining connections a blessings, knowing that your power has the ability to bring forth positive change, creating the blessings and outcomes that you desire. The abundance you desire to manifests when you push out all negative thoughts and return to love, light and joy.
Without awareness of what cords were attached, where they came from, and where your energy was flowing, it's quite likely that the cord will reattach. If this happens you have a couple of options.
Energy Cord Cutting Steps
- The first is to consistently ask Archangel Michael to cut your cords.
- The second option is to stand in your power. This is what I recommend.
- Claim your power and be aware of your energy, recognize where your energy is flowing, and where it is being drained.
- Love, light and joy are truly energies that lead back to the core of who you are.
When you embody this, and hold this positive energy as the point of attraction, you are able to move towards the highest path of love, unaffected by the attitudes and energies of others. Not only that, you also positively influence the energies of others, affecting change, and bringing forth deeper awarenesses to their own patterns.
Stand in Your Own Power
If you're feeling low energy or like there is someone in your life who is draining your energy away, chances are that is what’s happening. But don't worry, it's easy to address.
The Practice of Cutting Cords
Focus on your heart and ask your higher self, Archangel Michael, or your Guardian Angels – or all of the above – for help.
“Do I have any cords that are draining me energetically?”
Pay attention to your inner voice; your intuition. Yes or no? If the answer is yes, ask where.
“Where is my energy going? In what direction is it being drained?”
Is it being negatively drained by a job you don't like? Is it coworkers? World events? Family? Friends?
Tune in. Listen to your heart. Listen to your internal guidance. Then, with that awareness, ask yourself how you can shift this pattern moving forward?
If there is a friend who has constant drama and who is draining you, how can you stand in your joy, light, and positive energy without getting pulled into that lower vibration which allows a cord to be attached?
Set Healthy Energetic Boundaries
Perhaps you need to stand up for yourself and say, “I'm not available to listen to gossip right now,” or “I understand you're having that experience, but here's my experience.” Standing in your power, truth, joy and positivity will create an aura around you that is a powerful protection from all kinds of negativity.

When you become more aware of this positive energy around you, you’ll notice very quickly when your vibration shifts.
“Oh wow! I looked at the news which I don't normally do and now my energy is being siphoned away toward this world event. Okay, let me cut this cord.”
Imagine a sword of light cutting the cord, then pull out the root and cord. Release any and all residue into the light. Always into the light. Let it go.

When you cut a cord, make sure you replace that space with love, joy, and positive energy. Imagine a waterfall of light flow in and filling the void where any negativity or lower energies were attached. It’s also powerful to call back your energy at this point.
Call Back Cleansed Energy
When you complete this practice, all energy that is rightfully yours that has been drained consciously or unconsciously, returns cleansed and purified. You might think or say,
“I now call back all energy that is rightfully mine, cleansed and purified.” See your energy spiraling with golden light. Your power, confidence, energy, and light returns cleansed and purified. It spirals in, weaving back into your light body, into your aura, and into your heart.
When you're in this state, it's so easy to notice if your energy is being drained. If it is, you know what to do. Cut the cords that are draining, call back the energy that is rightfully yours, and stand your power. Know that doing this makes such a huge difference in the world, your life, energy level, and radiance.
You can then overflow light and ripple light out beyond you towards all that is.
The Power of Joy, Light, and Positive Energy
Whenever you are feeling anxious, fearful, confused, or doubtful, you can reverse this by returning to a zero point field of infinite possibility, asking your angelic guides for assistance. It also helps to visualize your energy body being surrounded by a bright golden bubble of light.
Call back your power, aligning with your core light, shifting into love, and allowing light to fill your heart center, knowing that you are loved, you are worthy, and you are connected with Divine Love.
For when you bring the divine light presence into your body, you’re able to move with the knowingness that you also have the power to transmute negative energies into love, rather than allowing it to affect you any longer.
